Dual 15" Avalanche install pictures and review

New Alpine 9833 lit up in the dark:

    No more trunk room....

    Amp for speakers...

    Both amps together...

And no new sub post is worthwhile without some sub pr0n...

    http://www.wesuckatlife.com/tony/MOV00320.wmv

As far as the review goes....all I can say is that I am thoroughly impressed, and they sound even better than I expected, especially since they're upfiring. I mostly listen to rap/hip-hop, and the low notes on Lil Jon/Mike Jones/Tech N9ne/etc. songs are simply amazing, but the sub is still able to keep up great output up to 80 Hz. I'll have to get it metered sometime, but for daily listening, I have the sub volume on +8 out of 15 on my Alpine deck, gain less than half, and it's still loud as ****. Definitely worth the upgrade over my 12" XXX (not to say 2 15" XXX's wouldn't be just as ******), but for the price, I don't think there's a sub out there that can beat the value of the Avalanches.

I've got a roll of Raammat ready for the weekend. You can't hear much rattling when you're in the car though.

Nope....haven't noticed any yet. There's about 4" of clearance.

you will want to increase the sub to +15 on the Alpine 9833 to get 4 volt. Just turn down the gain and then up the sub level and adjust the gain correctly.

What size box is that for the AVA's. it looks huge? I tought they worked well in smaller sealed boxes?

The gains were adjusted with the sub level at +15, I just lowered it to +8 afterward.
