I am about to buy the alpine type r comps. and i want to power...i want to give them 50 watts.....but i cant find an alpine amp that does 50 watts, would it be a big deal if i went with rockford or jbl, or such other brands?

mixing speakers and amps is not a problem at all
although, that is a 2 channel amp, and if you plan on running 4 components (or any rear fillers) you will lose the option of your fade control, becuz the amp only sees L and R, not FrontL, rearL, frontR, rearR. get my drift homes?

You keep spreading this stuff about losing your fade control. Where did you get this from? It's not true. Unless you don't have enough preouts or your bridging your amp, you have all of your fade control as well as left and right controls.
Now, are you talking about powering each part of the component set seperately? And being able to fade between tweeter and midbass? The comps crossovers should have enough control over the tweeter vs. midbass output that you do not need to power them seperately just to maintain that.
I'm never wrong, EVER! Just ask me.

Hey look at this amp its like 20 bux more but you get so much more!! http://www.shop4sound.com/catalog/pr...products_id=37
That would do ya pretty good!

ask Wonderbread, he told me, he'll go into depth about it. i believe it and it sounds really logical, so WBread, plz explain? also, if he is wrong, can somebody plz nicely clarify what would happen!!!!!!You keep spreading this stuff about losing your fade control

Yes, Wonderbread, please explain.![]()

you would lose your fade control with only a 2 channel amp and running 2 sets of comps off of it, how do u expect to run a rear and front channel on a 2 channel amp? please tell me that....

Too keep fade with a 2 channel amp, wire the front speakers to one side of the amp and wire the back to the other side of the amp. Then your balance becomes your fade.
yeah you don't lose fade control. beside's you don't need rear fill. many people don't use it especially in a smaller car, now i have 6 1/2"s in my back doors as rear fill but they aren't powered by an amp just the h/u, now i could split my 2 channel amp and power them but why would i? anyway you don't lose fade control i've seen 2 channel amps used to power 4 speaker's many many many many times and they didn't lose control.

let me specify....
I am buying 1 comp set, the alpine type r...
questions, where is every one getting 4 comps from?
and as for their 50 watts rms, is dat total, 25 for the driver, and 25 for the tweet?
as for the back, i was lead to believe( when i 1st started) that music should come from the back, but i am now educated and need more shabazzzzz in the front to get my quality up, but i dont want to get rid of the 6x9 i currently have
i never thought you were going to run 4 set's of comps notice how i didn't suggest or mention that in my post. oh and aren't you getting a DD3512?? if you are those 6x9"s are gonna **** near gonna fly out of the rear if, they are in the rear area. not sure though just taking a guess.
adam
yea, i'm getting 2 dd 3512( hopefully they arrive monday), i am also getting one set of alpine type r components for the front..i think i'm gonna sell my rf bd1000.1 amp and buy a jbl 1200.1 amp, i want the peace of mind of being able to run at 1 ohm, incase i ever need t0.
and it will be more aesthetically pleasing having all the amps looking alike....
instead of 3 or 4 completly different amps....i was thinking of all rf, but for my subs "it cant handle a 1ohm load" even tho i'm running ti at 1 ohm...well was....
that should be 50 for the midrange and 50 for the tweet. It's almost like a DVC speaker
wait, so i need an amp that does 50x4?
i thought it was 50x2....i'm confused...
