With a DMM. Set it to resistance (Ohms) and stick the red lead on the DMM to the (+) terminal of the coil, and stick the black lead on the DMM on the (-) terminal of the coil. Or you could check for continuity with the DMM aswell.
^ agree get a dmm and set it to ohms and make sure the resistance is correct
Sniff the vent on the magnet, if it smells strongly of burnt carpet its fried.
^Not necessarily...

Cant I just take the l7 out of the box and hook my amp up to each set of coils at a time to see if the cone moves. Can that work it seems logical right??????????? Will the cone move with a blown coil????????
^Not necessarily....(lol)
c'mon, help the kid out.
An amp can sometimes (often actually) move a speaker that's got a bad coil. Testing the resistance with a DMM is the sure fire way to find out if the speakers good.
spelling? eh.
thx
