6.25x41x22.5= 3.34 cf with the 2" x14" back it adds enough to make almost 4 cft

Audiolife, I'm afraid you missed something with that...you didn't factor in the fact that the front of the box is a slant did you? You multiplied part of the height but in actuality it would have to be like 37.5'' tall see what I'm saying? It's definitly alot more than 4.0 ft^3. Just do me a favor please and look at me picture again then see what you get.

oops, i dont guess I posted my newer measurements on this particular thread, I just realized that audiolife...from what is on this thread I could see you getting 4 cubes. I apologize for my lack of awareness. I made another thread with the new measurements and the height and top depth of the box.

figured with the "mean" it isnt exact but its real close its 24" hi at the back right? and im afraid its close cause m box is over 2 times as big there isnt anyway to get 7 cf without doing a ultra thin rigid mold of some kind

about 6 cubes not including port displacement and bracing and woofer... these will all make the box smaller slso try putting total heigth at the back to me looks like you were saying it was 24" tall use ur drafting skills u knew about the ----- lines

lol try my high school geometry skills ;-) anyway it can be up to 39 inches tall total in the back. Its 14 inches up to that protrusion and then once you go out the 2 inches for that its another 25 from there. So 39 inches tall. Sorry for the confusion.

After going on kickers website and finding out the woofer displacement and the port displacement for two L7 12's I am coming up with 6.4582 ft^3 internal air space. Do you think thats close enough to the 6.5 ft^3 recommended for the largest ported box by kicker? Its going to be like 6.4 ft^3 by the time I add bracing and all. Let me know if thats big enough for a good ported box.

I had 6.6 after port displacement but after woofer displacement and bracing I'll end up with like a 6.4ft^3 box. What do I need to do? I can't just adjust the port size for this slightly smaller box? I might MIGHT can find a way to squeeze just a little bit more space into this thing. I guess its time to go get out the measuring tapes again.

After remeasuring everything and finding out that I can't even get up to 6.4ft^3 as I thought because my seat only slopes a certain distance then comes straight up so I wouldn't be able to get that much, the max I could get with woofer and port displacement is about 6ft^3. Has anyone ever used the middle recommendations from kicker for ported boxes? I believe I'll have to be using them(2.75ft^3 per sub) I know that will fit! Could I possibly retune the port for a box that is the size I can get(max size that will fit)? I have one more idea that will really complicate the box building part of it, but I may be able to find another cubic foot if I do some wild stuff with the shape of the box. I'll be back in a few mins to post and let u kno wif it works.

Ok I remeasured everything and figured it all up. I talked with kicker, and asked what I could do to go with about 6 cubes for the box. They said just extend the port 2 inches and it should be tuned to about that same frequency and it won't be a problem. When I had asked him if like I had 6.4ft^3 if it would hurt he said no but when I told him that I was just going to go with 6.0ft^3 then he said add two inches to port length. So I have my box planned out and hope to start building tomorrow! My port is going to be 16.5''deep 12.5''tall and 6.36'' wide. This box should seriously increase the output of the subs over my sealed box according to kicker!

there is no way you get that space in there the port will take up about .65-.8 cubic feet and in the space u mentioned there is no way to "build" a box to that are you taking the INSIDE OF THE BOX? and the angle doesnt really matter in figurative volume all u do since its a straight shot is measure the top and the bottom and add them together and divide it by 2

Audiolife, check your email in about 5 mins, I'm sending you a file with all my figuring and final box shape... I'm getting 5.84 ft^3 internal space with the extra 2 inches kicker added to the port for me, they said it would work fine.
