Re: Alpine PLT-5 powered subwoofer 250RMS

If it's in a mall parking lot, you might be screwed. You'll need a battery charger that is capable of deep cycle batteries and can do a slow charge at 2 amperes or less. You might be able to push it to a Sears Auto and see if they can trickle charge it for you. Most malls have a Sears and most Sears have a Sears Auto. Don't let yourself get into a situation where you might kill the battery and you won't have to worry about it. I killed mine over the winter because I didn't start my car all winter long. I'm guessing my alarm drained the battery. I usually start it up every couple of weeks in the winter to make sure the battery doesn't die on me, but last winter I got lazy and didn't start it at all for about 2 months. Well, the alarm unlocked my doors, the interior lights came on, but there wasn't enough power to crank the engine. I used my charger in the conventional setting at 75 amp quick charge to jump the car. That was the end of that battery. Back to your FS thread though. Sorry to thread jack that.

It's bigger than the D35, the terminals are flipped around (well, actually the D35 is backwards, the other batteries are normal), it's got side posts, but it's going into my Caprice to replace my D34/78 that decided to cook one of it's cells. Word of advice, if you get one of them, DO NOT jump start that battery if it should die. Trickle charge it every time it needs a charge. You'll cook it otherwise. Take my failure and experience it ojunly vicariously.
I jumped my Deka three times this winter because it died and I had no idea about it, so now it rests at 12.3 and pisses me off..

I always wanted to try one of these, but I wanted the bigger one. I also considered picking up the Tymphany LATs when they were on closeout at PE. I wish I did because I think they had them for like $20 (obviously no enclosure or built in amp) but I had no idea how to mount the dang thing haha!

seems the 7" are really rare, haven't seen one second market in like, ever. But haven't been actively looking so could be off. Anyway, think about it! Would be willing to come down on the price some (or a bit, if you pay actual shipping)

Not to get off topic, I saw one on eBay a few months ago for over $400 shipped. The seller claimed it was still new, never used. I almost jumped on it...almost.
