    New Components

the amp i have is a hk 598
    specs

    4 x 200 rms at 4 ohms
    4 x 400 rms at 2 ohms
    or 2 x 400 rms at 4 ohms

i need two sets of components for this amp that can handle the power and sound good in stock locations i need them in the 5.25 size and i listen to mainly metal and hard rock. im probably goign to deaden the doors while im at it. right now i dont have a budget cuz i just want to see whats out there but i dont really want to spend over 300 a pair. so im going to be workign this summer in the fields lol

    Re: New Components

Honestly, you don't need comps in the rear. Spend most of your money on the frontstage, and if you must have rearfill just pick up some ~$75 or so co-axials.

    Re: New Components

if you insist on rearfill, you really just need some midbass speakers. generally its best to minimize the high frequency content of the signal fed to the rear speakers. @ 200hz to 3khz. highs should be focased from the front and hence the consequent image.

So then, don't send them full RMS power. Turn the gain down, and fade some to the front. It would be a total waste of resources to put anything more than a moderately priced co-axial in the rear.

    Re: New Components

Depends on if you increased your budget on just the front speakers (since you aren't blowing as much on the rears).

    Re: New Components

15-MCSQ5.25 from memphis would be good midbass from factory location with a 5.25 is install dependant but these are also forgiving...they also come out of the plate
