RE series comps plus imaging set OR POLK MOMO's???

I can get used RE RE series comps (everything included) with a CDT TW-19SLP Imaging System for around 170 shipped

OR....

new 6.5 polk momo's for arround 200 shipped.


Which do you think will be a better deal and sound better from midbass to tweets

I heard a set of polks at tweeter and HATED them, jsut didnt sound clear at all.

Basically, it's an auxillary tweeter with a very high xover point that you are supposed to mount up high (like on the A-pillars) to help raise the soundstage. In reality; it's a bandaid for a poor install. With properly setup, tuned and aimed speakers, you should not need one. Not to mention it could possibly do more harm than good. They're wastes of money and time resources IMHO. The money for an "imaging kit" could be better spent somewhere else.

That's one of the main reasons I don't really care for CDT....they push these magic pixie-dust type products WAY too much.

I have heard a set of mb quart ref's, the polk momo's, but never the RE's.

I loved the way the polks sounded. MUCH better then the MB quarts IMO. Never heard any cdt though. Was trying to decide between cdt and polks but I am gonna go with the polks beause I have heard them before.

How much did you pay for your re comps??? How is the midbass?? The midbass on the polks is great.

polks have probaby thee most lack luster tweeter i have ever messed with even worse than cdt or diamond but the diamond is harsh (metal dome)

I'd say the REs, for the extra $30, you can replace the RE tweeters with some Aura ones from DesertHeat. (Heard the RE tweeters were harsh) I would like to think that would kill the polk momos. The imaging set is not needed.

How much do the re's set cost from RE? And also, have you heard the new polk momo comp set and/or the re comp set? Or you just saying that based on other sources?
