Attenuate tweeters, what size resistor?

I have some Polk MMC6500's, which even on the lowest crossover setting, are too bright. The tweeters are mounted in the factory location, which is notoriously bright in my model car(Subbie WRX). I want to keep them there, for ease and security.

What would be a good starting point for adding a resistor, to attenuate the tweeters?

Instead of a resistor, would you be able to use something like the CDT LP-1 attenuator? It would cost more but, if it would work in your set-up, the advantage would be variable attenuation.

The LP-1 can be bought alone, without the tweeters.

Or just look for an L-pad at any electronics store or website. That's all that CDT's "LP-1" is.....just an L-pad
