i need some new 6.5s...

i have a honda prelude and i plan to get either one se or two or a xxx. so i need somethin up front that can create a nice soundstage. my front two stock 6.5coaxials are both about to blow but my stock tweeters are jus fine. i was looking at getting the re re comp set with the group buy but its only 50rms. theres alot of component sets that r 50rms but that seems kind of low since u can get sets ranging up to 150rms etc. practically put i need to kno if this set will cut it or if i should honestly get somethin with a lil bit more power. have any suggestions?

also since my tweeters arent blown, im not in dire need of tweeters but i will eventually need them as one of the most important parts of creating a nice soundstage.

Well, if you have coaxials...you're going to have to replace the tweets anyway, most likely.

true...i jus went to my car and measured how deep i could possibly go and 2.75 is a lil pushing in but might fit. after i cut out the basket. also the biggest diameter i could go is 5.25... so does anyone have NOW any suggestions?

Also, I'd ditch the stock tweets once you get a good comp set and amp.

You can't fit 6.5s with an MDF baffle? Or kickpods...? Or a saw?

A board you make to mount the speakers too out of MDF (medium density fiberboard).

Depends.....a baffle out of MDF might not be that hard to make. So, it might not be "a lot" of work....just more work than fitting 5.25's

I installed my Koda Comps a few weeks ago. I managed to fit them in there using 2x 3/4 inch mdf spacers on each door. Prelude doors are not very deep, so regardless you will have to use spacers no matter what since you want high power comps = bigger magnet and deeper mounting depth. There are a lot of choices out there depending on your budget.

Do a search and Im sure you will find the perfect one for you.

Is this a DIY project or are you having it installed by a shop?

make a spacer. anything is possible. it will work as long as it doesnt get too close to the factory speaker grille.
