use 6x9 rear speaker slot to put 6.5" subs?

i have infinity kappa perfect 6.1 as component and have 6x9 infinity 3 way speaker for rear spearker. one of my rear speaker broke (not blown) and i was searching and looking around which 6x9 speaker i should get again. also i have 10" JL w7/ jl 500/1 amp running as bass. while i was reading and searchign through this forum i come to some thread that putting JL 6.5 subs in those 6x9 would make the sound quality of ur car better then 6x9? is that true?

edit: i forgot to mention i have hifonic 100rms watt x4 @ 4 ohms amp for my speakers.

Well, sound quality isn't improved by using rear speakers.....but generally 6.5's perform better than 6x9's

hmmm..thx for quick respond. wut would be the best choice? set of 6.5 jl speakers for 100$ or 6.5 jl sub woofer?(dont know how much those goes for)

neither. try focusing all you attention on the front stage and don't bother with rearfill. plus running a 6.5" subs and a 10" sub i would imagine won't sound right. if you must have rearfill go with a 6.5" coaxil off of headunit power.

haha thx. but i juss read the thread that infinity company has good repairing policy. so im hoping ill send them my broken Infinity Kappa 693.5i and get them fixed. these speaker was giving me really high mid and high. and getting bass from my 10" JL W7 was awesome. dont know y people dont really like 6x9 rear speakers.

"Don't like" is relative. If you're like me, and not going to constantly push your speakers to full excursion, then 6x9s and oval speakers in general aren't this huge concern.

I've seen 4x10 speakers before. I want to listen to them just to satisfy my curiousity.

the JL 6.5" woofer is kinda touchy. i have used a lot of them. they sound amazing for a few minutes but the voice coils tend to heat up extremely quicky at higher volumes.
