Are Dayton 6 1/2 woofers any good? Specifically the DC160S-4. What else would be a good choice for a 6 1/2" driver, 4 ohms, with a frequency response that's at least 80hz-3khz, for less than $40 a pair? I'm looking to build my own component set.

Is Goldwood any good? Specifically this speaker:

Definatley go with the Daytons before the Goldwoods.
Im also looking to make my own comps. What kind of crossover do you plan on using?
What about the tweeter.
Ive been looking at the Dayton Classic 6 1/2 inch woofers, and Audax TM025F1 tweets, and probably a dayton crossover. Adds up to only 120ish bucks.

I'm going to be using Aura crossovers and Aura 1" silk tweeters from the MR62 component swet. You can get the crossovers and tweets for less than $60 shipped from desertheatracing@yahoo.com, if you're interested.

Then you need to verify what impedence drivers that crossover was designed for. If it was designed for use with a 4ohm mid, then you can't use an 8ohm mid (well, you can, but the results would likely be less than stellar).Originally Posted by Jonahdude

It's 4 ohm, so I've only been looking at 4 ohm drivers.
