Mounting of tweeters

Hi, I wondering where you generally point your tweeters, I have inifinity kappa series and I have the tweeters in the stock location on the dash, however, the sound is too harsh .. per se, like in my friends car, it sounds like its coming from all around you, while in mine.. like its coming right at you... and he has some audio bahn speakers.. so im confused as to why mine sounds like ****, and his sounds so awesome..

location, x over point and + - db settings on the x over? there are lots of reasons. factory locations in 99.9% of cars are about 95% in the worst possible place to get the best sound. that's a fact.

i have mine right beside the side view mirrors and i like the way they sound, had them in my doors b4 in previous car, they were swivel mounted and i also liked them there, but i like them better now, but also i upgraded wire in the new car and old car was a 98 cavi, so maybe jus the wires and/or car or location in general make a differrence, theres 2many factors lol

it's a 95 honda prelude, so I should move them to the doors?, I mean, they're practically almost there

that is a kick panel car believe it or not.if i recall correctly those still have the deep under dashes with room behind the clutch pedal (if its a manual shift) pretty much a almost front facing locatoin between the kck and frewall. if im wrong about the depth there its still a kick panel car with the speakers on the kicks. you might scream about putting them their but the results would be well worth it.

yup as backwards as it may sound to you the farther away it is the better it disperses and also loses directivity (which is what you dont like aka side biased) dont belive me take a poll here or got to www.carsound and ask. while ur at it put the mid down there too.

but then wouldnt my left foot block one of the tweeters?

it shouldnt my friend tim had a older one than urs he too his block out if your worried about that just go into the side in front of it.

i was thinking, how about ontop of the dash, like farther out than the stock locations, would this be a little better?
