3-way standard setup or 2-way with sub?

I was wondering which would be better for SQ, I am looking at two different 3-way setups:

DLS Iridium 6.2 with a 5 or 6" sub in the kick panel

OR

DLS Iridium 6.3 with the 3" mid in the kick panel

Which do you think would sound better?

Personally, I'd probably go w/ a 3-way now then save up for a sub.

I haven't been running with my current system for 6 months (actually, I've never had a sub w/ my current system) and have been running my mids down to 50hz.....so far so good.

Even then, there are some very cost effective 8" subs that IMO would do WAY better than a 5" or 6". That's another option to look at. Right now the eD 9Kv2 is on pre-order for $50......14mm Xmax, pretty good for an 8 and at a hell of a price. ID8v2 has 15mm Xmax for ~$100. Koda8 has 12mm Xmax for $90

if ya did you would know who i was talking about he is a pretty good installer. he used to do the high end hifonics stuff on dynaudio components and image dynamics subs. he is in his 30's i belive he lives in freemont now.

Nope Don't ring a bell. He's about 10 yrs older than me though.......so that's probably the reason.
