    Components

Okay, I'm so undecided on what components and coaxials to put in my car. First I thought I was set on Polk DBs but heard some Kickers, MB Quart RCE213, Eclipse. I mainly listen to R&B, HipHop, Pop and will occasionally watch DVD movies. Any suggestions on what components and coaxials to go with. As you can see my price range is about $200 for components and $150 for coaxials.

    Re: Components

Diamond Audio M3's are your best bet- they handle alot of power and their crossovers have a rear output(for your rear coaxes-rear fill) so technically any 2ch with plenty of power will push them nicely- so bridge yor 4ch Hifonics and send it all to'm

    Re: Components

I looked into Diamond Audio M351s and they handle from 60-100watts and I'm afraid that the amp will blow them.

    Re: Components

You'll never blow those speakers unless you crank the gain on your amp and blow them with distortion.... I mentioned Diamond because of their flexibility of their crossover and I've heard them in several cars(my brother ordered M3's for his Mazda MX6 and the sound great off a 50wX4 Rockford Punch- he has the amp bridged driving 200X2 to M3components and coaxes-has his gain very low and it screams- very nice Sq from a low line of components

The components themselves (mid/tweet) are rated to handle 100rms but when you add the coaxes to the crossover from the components- the crossover spits the power accordingly- and these speakers can handle more than advertised

Ask Diamond Hex owners who send 300rms to each side of their components when they are only rated @ 170rms

You can run your amp normally @ ##x 4 and they'll sound great also

Another choices for $200 components are:
    Rainbow Dream line
Arc Audio Kar series(made by Rainbow)
    Focal Poly's
    CDT Classics
    OZ Audios

Hard to say....because its subjective- I've never listened to a set of MB Quarts that I 'loved' -they were too harsh for me

I'm not into aluminum tweets personally, but the M3's can get loud and harsh also

On the other hand, I've heard eclipse components that sounded very nice with offaxis tweet facing windshield-

I recommended the M3's because for your budget of $200 you get great quality crossovers anf overall good performance- and because you mentioned MBQuartz fig'd that was your style

But if you like smooth/warm/natural highs and more of an accurate musical reproduction- check these

I have Rainbows and all I listen to is R&B, Pop, Rap and lots of highly instrumental
    music

    Re: Components

I've listened to the whole Diamond line, my friend is a dealer of just about everything

The advantage of the M6's and the more expensive HEX's is that you have a silk or aluminum tweet option -its actually the same tweet on both applications-whereas the M3's are limited to metal dome

They are def both out of the budget you set- but For ~$300 you can get the M6's w/ silk tweet and find a cheap set of coaxes(they are only rear fill anyways)

    Re: Components

Yeah because I found the M651 for $199.00 and free shipping so I think I will do that but now I'm worried about fitment. Cardomain says 5.25" fits but how will 5" fit? Will it be that big of a difference?

    Re: Components

Try to find the M651 "S" if you want smoot highs(silk), fitment wont be an issue, also be careful where you buy online- alot of refubs/blown speakers or crossovers sold online
    when dealing with restricted brands

Also the M6's step up in power so you can def bridge that ZX4400 and run the rears off the crossovers or maybe even your HU- but theM6's will eat up 200 rms per side like nothin'- seen it /heard it

    Good luck

    Re: Components

Actually the online company I'm going through is local in my area. So there shouldn't be any issues. So for now I will get the Diamond M651's for front stage and worry about the rear coaxials later on. Thanks for everyones opinions, esp...3.5MAX6SPD.
