    Re: Speaker size

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think so. The biggest advantage of a 3 way system is to have a seperate mid bass and mid-range and a 5-1/4" midbass wouldn't do as good of a job. I have heard 5-1/4" put out some decent midbass though don't get me wrong. You could always buy some raw drivers in the sizes you want and go with active X-overs or build your own passive X-over networks. Time consuming but fun none the less.

    Re: Speaker size

Or you could buy a 4" 2way comp set and add your own dedicated 5.25" midbass.

    Re: Speaker size

In my car the size of the speakers are:

    Front 5 3/8", 3" and a 1" tweeter

Back 6.5", 1" tweeter, 6x9(just gonna take them out because im gonna get subs)

I was trying to find speakers to fit these dimentions.

If anyone has a great idea let me know.

    Re: Speaker size

Like mentioned before, go active & DIY. You'll be able to fit those sizes exactly. Or, if you have the front and rear clearence, you could make some baffles and fit 6.5" speakers in that front opening.

Wussy, you only live once :p And those door panels only cost like, what, $1200......

But seriously, your best bet is to either buy a 4" 2-way comp set and add a dedicated midbass yourself, buy a 4" 2way comp set & a 5.25" comp set and ditch one of the pairs of tweets, or go DIY and get speakers from someplace like www.partsexpress.com and www.madisound.com
