tweeter door location question, help. PIC INCLUDED!!

hey guys. im finally getting my last part of the system which is knukonceptz wiring tomorrow and hopefully ill install it over the weekend. im thinking of placing my tweeters in the doors but i'm not sure where would the best location be. would this location
be good or can you guys edit the pic and tell me where to put it? also in focal 165w lil booklet it says how tweeters should be pointed to the adjacent seat's headrest. this is my first time installing speakers and im wondering how can you exactly point tweeters in certain direction? i thought you can only put them so they point the opposite door.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

edit: do they sell hole saw (tool for making a hole for tweets) in home depot or lowes? or what other tool did you guys use to make holes for tweets?

dont kno about placing them there but i placed my tweeters on the black triangle part right next to the window and they sound fine there to me.

they sell hole saws at HD and Lowes. your tweeters should have come with a housing that has an angle. thats how you point. you wont get the angle if you flush mount them. if you have the angle housing put it on the black thingy to get the angled direction you want.

hole saw rocks, any home improvment store should have em
thas good location, but jus play around with it like jus hold it there and get sum1 to hold on the other side, till u find the location that sounds best 2 u, no point in us telling u thas perfect then u install n hear it in a diff location n u like that way better

Get some masking tape and test different locations including mounting angles for a day or two. I thought mine sounded good a little higher than your picture, but the best location was in the a-pillars pointed towards the front windshield instead of towards me. If you don't try different locations, your car may look like swiss cheese before it sounds good, j/k.

i have the housing, and it has angled back side, i just thought you use those when u put it on the dash, thanx.

thanx for the reply gues, ill get tons of double sided tape, 1/2" mdf and a hole saw at lowes tomorrow, and start my experiment ill keep you guys updated with the pix..

i just got 1 3/4 and a 1 1/2 hole saws, and i told the guy ill be cutting my leather door and he told me same thing as my dad did, it will rip the **** out of my leather. so now my dad told me to mark a hole, drill holes on the pencil mark with the smallest drill bit then cut it out with a razor knife. does anybody that has made a tweeter cut in the door with leather have any suggestions?

I would mount it up near the black triangle too. Check for clearance for the depth of the tweeter. Where you have the circle, I think you might find depth very limited. And remove your door panels before you drill/cut. Check twice, cut once.

Before you hole saw, use a razor blade or sharp utility knife and first cut the leather down to the plastic or faux wood. Use the hole saw as a cutting guide. Take your time!

When I sawed my doors I did it by hand and didn’t use an electric drill. Now it will take a lot longer. You almost have to scrape away the wood. Hole saws are very aggressive. With too much power behind it I was worried that I could crack the faux wood. Take your time, its not a race.

If the hole needs to be enlarged any or cleaned up. There are files that have a round radius on them. The radius on the file will closely match the radius you need. Take your time.

Oh, your comment about the leather. I’ve never cut real leather, just fake stuff. But a suggestion. If you can cut the door from the back side, you don’t really even have to cut the leather away at first. After the hole is made, you can make a couple of slits in it and pull it thought the hole. Once you mount the tweeter in the door it will keep the leather tight. This way you don’t have to worry about the end becoming exposed.

maybe if you put a piece (or a couple) pcs. of tape down on the leather part your gonna cut it would hold the leather in place and together while your cutting.
this was never tested by me but if your gonna cut the leather from the outside(grain) it would be worth a try.

yes it is thanks to everybody. i took my doors apart tonight but couldnt finish it, its got too dark outside . anyways ive cut my mdf now jus gotta make perfect circle for comps and mount that *****. then ill connect everything try different tweet locations and whatever location im happy wit ill mount it to the steel then cut the door panel from the back side and i think id be fine. oh also im thinking about mounting my left tweet in a 30 degree angle and right one in a 10 degree angle.

I know this is late, but mine are in the same place as yours and i don't think i could suggest a better location
