I've been wanting to put a system in my car for a long time and now i have the time and the money to do so.
i'm looking into speakers but i'm not to sure what to get. as far as sound i'm not looking to win any bass comps. i just want speakers that will give me the best and clearest sound possible. i want to be able to hear every instrument and if one of the band memebers happens to sneeze, i wanna hear it, but at the same time i still want that thump. haven't really come up with a price just yet. just wanted to know if anyone can give me a few ideas.

    my car specs are
    1997 Mustang Lx coupe

    Re: newbie

a good start would be 2 or 3 way components in the front, a decent subwoofer and with those you would need to have amps powering components and subwoofer. Then look for a decent head unit anything with 4 volt preout

    Head Unit: Alpine CDA-9833
Speakers: Polk/MOMO MMC650 (coaxials with ext. cross)
    Sub: Digital Design 9512
    Mono Amp: Hifonics Brutus bx1500
    Speak Amp: Tsunamni db4440

    Upcoming: in a 94 camry
    -Components: don't know yet
    -Midbass maybe?
-seel and peel or second skin
