    I am considering purchasing some 6.5" kicker 40cs654 to put in my 64 beetle to I need an amp or can I run them straight

    You can run them off the head unit.

    If you haven't bought them yet I would recommending getting some more sensitive speakers so that they will be louder on less power

    No I haven't purchased the speakers yet. What would be a better choice?
