    getting a low hiss

    i have a 4ch amp running component in the fronts and sub in the rears i have them bridged and have proper rms, i can turn the gain all the way down and i still get a hiss in the tweeter and mids, no noise from the bass, i have vol turned all the way down also, i can turn my key to accessory so do not have to have the engine on. could this be a ground issue? i checked all the wires and are solid.

    Re: getting a low hiss

    they are hooked up to the amp. b/c hiss is coming from all 4 Tweet/Mids, i have the L/R wires running from amp to cross over and from cross to mids and tweets, if there is one loose/bad connection on one wire, could that cause a hiss on all front speakers, Tweets and mids?

    What kind of crossover?

    Try another ground location, a good one.

    Depends on the Metal.Not just metal,would be a good ground.A good ground would be to the Chassis/Frame of the Vehicle, not a metal spot to scratch down.Newer5 vehicles from 90 on up mainly are Cheesy Metal /unibody sub frames.Try running a solid ground wire to the body Frame

    That's normal just amplified. Turn the gains down until its not as noticable.

    Read my thread and the post near the bottom. A member here did many tests and found that alot of different amps and setups have this same humm sound:
    *improving what I have (audison, hertz, Tru)* - Car Audio Classifieds

    * (2) Morel Ultimo 12's * Hybrid Audio Legathia SE Front Stage * RF 360.3 DSP * Brax 2400 * JL Audio HD 1200/1 *

    Yea. May be the head unit ground or something else.
