Opinions on these speakers?
Im not real sure what to look for with a front stage. I'm looking for 2 tweets and 2 6.5s for <$150.
I have 120wrms x 4 @4 ohms to work with and it needs to keep up with a 3krms substage.
Opinions on these here?
Tang Band 25-1166SJ 1" Neodymium Tweeter 264-834
Peerless 830657 6-1/2" Paper Cone SDS Woofer 264-1088

Just curious, what's your highs amp going to be?
Re: Opinions on these speakers?
Alpine 9887 and dc pai120.4, Running active off the HU. Also my first time.
Re: Opinions on these speakers?
yep. that is a fine pairing. how good it sounds depends on what you do to your doors. i recommend fiberglass batt insulation in thin PVC bags (for water proofing) inside the door - as much as you can fit.
Re: Opinions on these speakers?
Hmm. I was planning on deadener and closed cell foam. Im not sure what that is Rich, any links?

What would be a good way to keep the insulation out of the way of the window?

.
I think that's with any install personally..... Tho I have heard a few cars with just basic good Quality door speakers sound pretty dammn good
Re: Opinions on these speakers?
There's non-fiberglass batt insulation here. It's stuff that's used underneath auto carpeting. Very dense fiber. Not expensive for 32' roll. Doubling up on sound deadener would be more expensive.
QUIET BATT®- Acoustic Thermal Insulation Batting
Re: Opinions on these speakers?
the fiberglass batt alternatives are also fine. either need to be protected from water. i secure the bags with aluminum foil tape to the outer skin to keep them clear of the window. aluminum foil tape sticks very well to vehicle metal. my build log has details.
seriously, it's probably the best addition to any sound system with door speakers. night and day improvement regardless of speaker quality.
Re: Opinions on these speakers?
Gotta find some of that insulation..

Do the baffles considerably increase dB? +3?
