    remove all bass?

i'd like to remove most of the bass in my door speakers (factory) so they sound clearer. right now i have my subs at +4 out of 6 on my headunit, which is also giving me distortion in the door speakers when bass hits. how can i remove them? can i hook a crossover up to do this job?

    Headunit: Pioneer DEH-P8300UB
    Subwoofers: BASSLESS
    Amplifier: Sundown SAZ-2000D
    Trunk Battery: VMax ChargeTank CT2500

    Extra: Big 3 - Knu 1/0

in line high pass filter aka bass blocker, you just need one to filter out 300hz on down.

300hz down is going to leave a massive gap in the music, try setting your hu to where your speakers sound clean at this point your sub amp gain will probably be too low so reset it to compensate for it receiving a weaker signal. basically set the gain with the bass where it sounds best on your speakers instead of flat like normal.

so that means i'd need to put my gain very high? because right now it is more than halfway (and that is WITH the +4 on my HU)

    Re: remove all bass?

some cheaper HU's won't push an amp to full capability even with the gain maxed, dual for example is one.

do you have x-over settings in the HU? that would solve your whole problem.

Use the HPF on the HU.

    Re: remove all bass?

Info right on your link...might not be hitting the right button...
Internal Low-Pass Filter (LPF) and High-Pass Filter (HPF) allow advanced tuning with aftermarket amplifiers
