upgrade from bmw 325ci Harmon Kardon Tweeters

Hey guys..

Ive been out of the CA scene for a while... Not a complete audiophile but i appreciate nice sounding systems.

recently my HK tweeters in my bmw started cracking... does anyone know a good replacement that will fit in the same location? stock HU

How good were the HK? I think the system sounds great.

What would be as good or better?

is this the one with the factory sub in the ski pass??

i believe so. Its def got like an 8" sub in the back that sounds very clean, i believe it is above the seat under the rear window though, not the pass through... It has a button which seems to amplify the entire system a bit. I leave it on. maybe that is why its starting to go.

I have the same system in my car, if yours is the one with 3 speakers in each front door and 2 in the rear doors. There is actually 2 speakers in the rear parcel shelf that make the sub bass....not really sub woofers, per say. The button that looks like a speaker is for setting the stereo to full/surround/phantom sound on all speakers. All the speakers sound basically the same.

Normal setting cuts the high freqs from the rear speakers and runs them in mid-bass mode and brings your front stage forward and up. More like a tuned 3-way active system.

There isn't a cheap "kit" for these cars unfortunately...

You would have to take the tweeter pod cover off and measure the tweeter to find something that would fit behind the cover.
