with $400 I would *go with some of these:
    Components*
    Polk db6501*
    Jbl ms62c
Morel Maximo 6 1/2 inch 2 way component*
    Hertz DSK 165
    JBL P 660C*

    Rears*
    Kenwood *coax
    Polk db651
    Pioneer TS-G1643R

    Amp*JBL GTO-804EZ
    4-channel car amplifier — 80 watts RMS x 4

Very nice choices ..I was going to recommend the JBL P660C also..I put a set in a friends 02 ford, and had to modify the opening, but was worth the effort, sounded great, with 50rms on them

Good Quality Components? NO! The ones I told you are entry level quality components, if you are lucky to find a local Hertz Authorized Dealer, maybe you can get the DSK's for under $130.00 that would be the same price for the JBL PC series that at 2 ohms it will draw more power from the amp to sound louder if you decide to go with a cheaper 4 channel amp 4x50 W

You may get the Polk ones for just over $100.00 on Ebay but for the extra $30-40 you will be getting way better sound.

Cheaper than those coax and better quality, I doubt you will find any, some of those are under $40.00 a pair.

If you really want to take it to the next level for $300-400, you can get a set of components that will sound like many $600-$900 that don't need a lot of power.

Let us know what you decide to get, just as a courtesy for the thread, many members just ask for help and advice, they get it, then disappear without telling us what they ended up doing, and that is kind of a lack of good manners.

so out of those speakers what would be the best to go with? I will be getting 4 most likely, or should i get different type speakers in the front and back? Send the speaker and amp that would work the best.

    Re: Upgrading help

That would be cool if you post pics, if you go with the JBL, no need to get 4, just one for the front, the cheap coax I listed was based on your limited budget originally, if you don't mind spending $75-85. Get a matching set of coax for the rear the P series. The reason you don't put components in the rear is because, you want a good front stage, the sound is for the driver and front passenger, the rears are fillers and you will not hear them much, also the nice thing about those p series is you can turn rotate the tweeter to hear them better.
Also installing components is a pain in the a** ( extra wiring, and time to install). You could probably save a bit of money if you go with the JbL coax that have the titanium silk dome tweeter.
