yes they are very nice .all the hd models are the mid level comps from cdt ,l like the bass that you get from the hd models ,and the power handling is really good
I got the HD 642 which is the 3 way version. I wasn't able to mount the 4 in close so now I am running at a 2 way. Like it. Very clear. The HD series has a reputation as not getting really loud. They still get loud enough that you won't want to hit full volume in the car but not gonna impress anybody with the sheer volume in a parking lot. I am running 300rms per side to mine. They have no problems taking it. they are power hungery.
Make sure and power them with a good amp. I had mine on a Avionix which from the research I did said it was based on Elemental Designs amps. I got my speakers used and I thought that I had blown tweets. Some songs sounded great and some used a frequence were my tweets get distorted. I swapped to a Clarion amp and they are great.
if you want them new hit me up.haven't found anyone that can beat my cdt prices as of yet on all the new equipment
can be compared this model with others like Hertz, morels, boston?
is there a superior model to hd62

yes they can .i have the es mo6 mid with the es 010 tweets and the es 200 u x overs ,i'd put my set up against any other components on the market.i have no mat in my doors at all and still get great mid bass from them.the tweets are soft but still get very loud,and my x overs has the upstage capabilities to add the extra set of tweets on the windshield or just to run another set of the es 010 tweets which i have .i'm running mine on a american bass 350.4 at 2 ohms and they get really loud.

yes i have they are nice as well . i went with the es model because of the deal i was given by the cdt owner .the hd comps are very nice especially the hd 642
Do you think the midbass is as strong as the dd w6.5's I currently run.
yes i do maybe even a bit better
