you are getting the wrong info from your friends,you need to look at rms ratings 1st , get some components that will take at least 90 watts rms per side ,2nd get an amp that will push the components at the 90 -100 watts rms . 3 way speakers are good for rear fill at best and most will not get loud .

Anyways... yea. 6.5" components. Get a real amp that can actually put out power. 3-way speakers just mean they're 3 times as awful.
Your best bet is to save up a bit more until you can get proper components. You won't find anything worth a dime at the budget, especially if you're looking new.

For real, most new comers want the loudest for the cheapest. Not a lot time gets put into the installs and that is why I need to sell my subs to do so.
