Is there a difference in sound quality? I'm wondering if the $40 dollar difference in price is justified.

There's a difference for sure, is it justified? Probably to most of us.

[Why So Cereal?]

The component set allows for more woofer excursion in my experience. The tweeter on the coax is quick to hit the cone as the woofer moves outward ESPECIALLY if u swivel the tweeter in anyway.
