budget setup

well i took out my 6x9s and got my money back because they wasnt quite gettin the job done. I have a 96honda accord and need something that will give me the loud clear words and such. I really dont want my bass draining out my words. I only have 130-150 to spend. What do you guys recommend me getting. Please post websites so i can take a look at them. I was on thezeb.com and looked at CDT classic component set for 149. but i dont know exactly whats the best for my money. But 6x9s arent an option anymore

The CDT's will be the best for the money. Another option for less would be the infinity reference 6000cs comp set. Its less then $110 on ikesound.com. Here is the link.

you said you didn't want bass in these speakers, a good idea for you would be a set of crossovers as well.

I would stay away from the new Infintiy References, they use a textile dome tweeter, and i leave the **** car with a headache everytime even without the music loud. The tweeters are extremely harsh (S's hurt as well as some T's). The mid ranges are decent though, better than the previous ones, but the old references had silk dome tweeters which i feel are much nicer. Though everything i said is just preference, if you are looking for soft highs get a silk dome tweeter, stay away from anything metal.

I greatly dislike MB Quarts tweeters, as i said earlier not a fan of harsh tweets. But its all personal preference.
Polk makes some pretty decent components relatively cheap, i suggest you look into them.
