Need advice on 5.25 door speakers

I'm looking for some 5.25s to add as much bass possible to a pair of infinity 6802cf 6x8s I just installed in the back.

Should I be going for a midbass speaker?

My deck is a clarion dx515 if that makes any difference.

I have just recently become interested in car audio etc so my knowledge is not quite as high as most of yours.

I'd have gotten kappas instead of reference for the rear simply because they play lower.

For the front... get kappas or look into a brand called CDT, everyone here seems to love them. But either way with 5.25" you're not gonna get much midbass.

yeah basically a mini sub that doesnt play as low... but those kickers supposedly play down to 30 Hz... which is pretty good considering some 12s only play down to 25 Hz.

I'm pretty sure you could fit those in the rear (hopefully you can return those other speakers)... might be able to fit them in the front with an depending on your car. Both cases would require an adapter bracket.

if you get midbass drivers for the rear... you may just want to get some 5.25" components like Infinity or CDT to give you nice clear highs and mids.

the thing with the infinities is that I bought them at futureshop because I had 175$ in gift certificates.

ive been very happy with the quality (kappas are out of my price range, and futureshop doesnt carry them) so I think ill probably keep them

I am looking to add some extra bass in the doors, the kicker midbass drivers or something similar looks like the perfect solution

A 5.25" is generally reserved for midrange. If your lookin for some kick but midbass without spending a lot get the Kicker RMB6 which is a 6.75" midbass woofer. Ebay for about $65.00. They also make the component set which is the RS6, comes with 6.75" midwoofer, tweeter, and crossover network, these will cost a little more though.

There's a really good deal at theZEB.com on the classic series CDT's! I would have gotten them, but they don't fit my front doors . If you want bass get a sub. 6.5" and higher are know for midbass like someone before said, so are you willing to use a jigsaw? I don't know; put a foam baffle (or better yet a encloser) behind your front door speakers and they might improve some higher end bass.

I have a 7" Dynaudio midbass drivers in my front doors with foam baffles; all I can say is that I'm impressed by the lowness of these drivers!! I'm looking to get a sub still though....... :veryhappy

Kicker website says the RM6 are 6.5" midbass drivers which is why I've been looking into them... but I've seem them listed on ebay as 6.75"... anyone wanna provide some insight on this?

Don't quote me, but I think the difference is The RMB6(6.5") comes as midbass set only where as the component set(RS6) comes with a 6.75" mid. Anyone else help us?

According to their website the R6c is a 6.25" woofer... so I have no idea where the 6.75" came from.

The 6.75" mid is an Ebay typo. The RMB6 is a midbass driver that is 6.5" and the R6c is a midrange driver that measure's 6.25" which comes with the RS6 comp set.
