600$ for just speakers and an amp. Thats a pretty hefty budget. You could get plenty of nice sets of comps and an amp to power them for half that.
HU: Alpine 9887
Subs: 4x SA10s
Amp:Audioque 3500.1 at .5
Well I want them to be good, and I would rather just throw the money down now and get something nice to hold me over for a couple years.
Noob question...I would only buy one set of comps...which is 2 speakers.
What would I do for the rears?
well, I'm a noob as well, but if you would read a bit on the web (this site, and others) the consensus is that rear speakers are a waste of time/money/effort. do a search on "rear fill" and see what you get.
it all depends what youre trying to accomplish
im trying to accomplish good sound quality with $600
what i meant is do you want rear speakers for your passengers or do you not care about them. me personally in my car i have a set of front componenets a 4ch amp and woofers. my 1 amp is powering everything up
well now it seems like it makes sense to buy **** rears...and spend all my money on comps and an amp for that
does it really make sense to buy rears or no
not really....i know some people that leave the rears stock run them off the head unit and basically concentrate on the fronts
it seems like it makes sense all my money will go to the comps now...can you really tell a difference if the rears are stock?
honestly your fronts can be so good that you wont even miss them. like i said if you had a chance to hear my car you can get a very good idea
what do you have
i have a tru teechnology 4ch amp with avi bsm components and 2 avi 10inch woofers. btw check your pm
anyone else?

There's $440 with $60 left to spare for some wire.
Oops, didn't realize you need power for the sub too. You'll need 4 channel:

It's going to be hard with that 12, but bridge the rears for the sub and power the OE rear speakers off the HU if you need rear fill. If not, just unhook them. That'll eat up the rest of your money. That 12 is going to want a lot of power.
