I have a JL 300/2. I was thinking of trying out a passive 3-way setup. I can do that with my current CDT-m6's by adding a 4inch mid/crossover. Wont run me anywhere near 400.
Or I could go do something entirely new. Suggestions?
Is 400 even reasonable for a 3way comp set?

There's a kicker SX900.4 in the classifieds right now that would allow you to go active.
Other than that, you'll need to invest a bit more in a HU, more amps, and some decent drivers.

Yeah. I suppose that's true. I think I'll have to hold off on active for now until I'm ready to take my headunit to the next level heh. Mine is nice, but its more flash than it is technical. Can't go active on this sucker.

How do you limit the power so less is going to the tweeters? Ah I'm a noob when it comes to active. I need to go read up on it.

If you have the funds for that amp, I'd be all over it. Lots of power + active for that price is hard to find.
