help me decide on a 8 or 10" midbass

Ive been out of the scene for a year or more, due to my daughter being born, but Im rebuilding, and have a set of image dynamics cd1e horns to install, I have some 6.5" midbass I can use, but want an upgrade and have tons of room on my doors. I need a midbass that will work in sealed (as sealed as a car door can be with working windows) doors with 100 wrms per side.
I need them to be able to handle from 65-1.5 or 2 k hz or so

mounting depth isnt really an issue either, ive got at least 6" if not more, if the driver is appealing enough Ill make more room

I can fit either 2 6.5"s, 2 8"s, or a 10" in each door, so hit me up with some suggestions

Ive looked at dayton rs 225s, the sls 8" and many more, but I dont know whats been going on since Ive been out of the game, so there may be some new, good, affordable options
and yes, price is an object, budget midbass only need apply

those are dedicated midbass and i'm not sure if that is what the OP is going for. I have a feeling he's not running a 4way active setup.

I have some really good 6.5" drivers that can fill in between the midbass/horns if needed, but with the horns rolling off around 1500 Im trying to find a really good midbass/low low midrange driver than can work

Im trying to keep this simple, but can go three way if needed

Ive looked at the sls, but not saavy enough to figure out how well they would work for me

the daytons have always been the first thing that came to mind for this for me

the 10" rs 270s look like a possiblity, but the fr being maxed at the horns rolloff makes me a littlwe concerned

from everything Ive found currently, the rs 225s seems like the best, easiest option

If this is for a 2-way, you should know that the Peerless SLS is best kept below 250hz. It CAN be run up to 500hz or so, but 250 seems to be a good number for them.

You may be better off with a pair of RS225's.

How efficient are the horns? I think you might want to look at some high efficiency pro audio mids, esp if you need them to play up to 2k. Look at the B&C 8NDL51....very low distortion and can pound....makes the SLS 8 look like child's play.

I'd say RS-225 4 ohm could do some serious work. RS-270 if you really want to go that big could also it that job well.

thats great info, I did some searching, but never went to IDs forum for some reason
If this is what Im getting (havent arrived yet) then my ot\ptions are a lot more open than i though

I thought the cross was at 1500 previously
