Alright so i have been convinced that a good front stage would be good enough for an entire vehicle.
Its a large, old vehicle and i dont know shit about components.
For around $350 what 6.5's would you buy new?

Rockford Fosgate T152S 5.25" components for $99 shipped:

I know they're 5.25"s, but that deal is ridiculous. Save up $50 and pick up 4 of the suckers. That'll yield WAY better results than 1 set of 6.5"s, and it'll open up a whole different level of options for your sound staging.
That's my opinion...
I shot out muh mom's vag with bossing papers in hand.

ebay some Alpine Type X speakers, I hear they're real good.
The Pioneer PRS set is one of the most highly-regarded component sets today in any price range, and it's a steal at ~$250. One good set of amplified components + good install = enough for one car, unless it's going to be a SPL monster.
I'd probably try this set, even though it is well under your budget.

No, I'm aware of the Pioneer comps. I'm just under the impression that $99 shipped for the RFs is a fantastic deal. Honestly, those RF comps are good enough for Steve Meade, dude.
1 set of comps being "enough for one car" is a matter of opinion, man. But I'm not trying to argue about this. I was only pointing out something that I think is a steal for $100. We've all got different opinions...
Also, the 6.5" RE XXX, Rainbow SLC 6.5", and pretty much anything CDT makes are awesome. I hear the Digital Designs DDA-W's are beastly too...

Well under budget is good!
i was looking at Rainbow's and CDT's...
The only reason i said one set is because i probably cant afford a powerful 4 channel.
I would really love to find a good used 100.4

Oh, I see. Given those circumstances, my recommendation is completely out the window.
I make too many assumptions, I suppose. Some people aren't running big a$$ setups. If you're running a pair of 12"s, you can easily get by with one set of comps (unless your subs are ungodly)...
