DLS vs. Dynaudio

I currently have Hertz MLK165 in my vehicle. I kind of want to try something new, I heard a set of DLS Iridium's and the sound just blew me away. I was also told good things about Dynaudio. So I want ya'lls opinion on which I should try to get. I was looking at the DLS Neobellium (sp?) and the Dynaudio Esotec. They will be powered by an Arc Audio se2300 amp (330x2 at 4ohms).

Also anyone know if the DLS or Dynaudio off woofersetc is legit? I read on DLS's site that there is a knock-off version of their products.

I don't know, I spent quite a bit on my Arc amps. I purchased 2 Arc se2300's. One to power my MLK165's and one to power my DD 3512e subwoofer.

If I was to change out to Dynaudio speakers and DLS amps. Which amps would I need for the Esotec? I wouldn't mind going with the higher end Dynaudio but I don't know anything about running active.

all the audio system in my car has DLS speakers and amps, and really the sound is amazing......i heard the nobellium was amazing, except the price are experience......i don,t know what is your budget ¡

The prices woofersetc was offering wasn't that bad. If I get them off that website, it'll be either or, just don't know which one would be better. I plan on putting the speakers in a 09 bmw 335i. I know the front size is 4" but I can make the hole bigger, right?

With speakers like that, I'd not buy them online. Running into fakes, open boxes, and refurbs is not worth your chance.; in other words, not legit. Look for a local dealer!

We're you giving the Hertz 330x2@4ohms as well? I've heard to really get them going you need 250wRMS up. I was planning on giving them 300wRMS from my Genesis Profile Ultra. Do you plan on selling the Hertz? If so, accepting trades?

Well here is your first problem......if the factory location for your car is only a 4" that pretty much kills Dynaudio for you.....yes they do make the md142 but it is a 3" dome midrange....recommended range of 700-7k....so no go there....Unless you want to step up to a 3-way setup with a midbass mounted in kick, door pod?

I run a full active Dyn setup in my Eclipse.....

I also run a full active Hybrid Audio Setup in my Lexus......

DLS is a pretty good company, but I have seen some of it be hit and miss.....stuff having to be fixed out of the box ( one reason I quit carrying their products)...

I run the Legatia 4 and I am very pleased with it, smooth midrange response and decent midbass...but mine are intsalled into my factory "tuned" nakamichi enclosures.....

Something to ponder....

OH!! and Hybrid speakers are kicking *** in all the comps....

I've given them over 400 watts each side with no problem. I do plan on selling them but for Dynaudios or DLS components. Probably will sell these for $499 shipped. Barely had these for less than 6 months.

How does this 'kill' Dynaudio ? He didnt say he was limited to Esotec, therefore leaving the Esotar 430 available.

Oddly I have yet to see a DOA from DLS, since it has only been 5 years or so, perhaps I should give it more time ?

I could use the Esotar 430 as a midbass?

No, it is a dedicated midrange. Nothing you have listed so far has an offering in a 3.5" mid bass. You are likely not going to find any company with that.

To also answer your first question about woofersetc .. no theyre not legit for any of the above mentioned products as well as several others.
