What is the rule of thumb on AMP VS. HU gains for Lows, mids and highs? My HU is was crazy and i cant get the sound i like....yet. Some tips would be great. thanks

HU: Pioneer Premier 90BT
Subs: (2) 12" Dual Kicker Comp VR's in Kicker ported box@ 1 ohm
LP AMP: Hifonics Brutus BXI 1608D
HP AMP: Phoenix Gold Octane R 8.0:4
Component Set: Eclipse SC8362 - soon to be replaced with ID OEM

digital multimeter. Get one of those then look up the gain setting tutorial and you should be set

use your ears.
Set the gains of your most sensitive/fragile speakers, most likely your tweets, then level match with your ears for the mids and low to match w/ your tweets.


uber low or no gains for tweets is a start![]()

reminds me.. i need a small amp w/ much less wattage for my tweets![]()
