RE Audio RE Series 6.5 Components

I just ran across these and was wondering if anyone is running this set or has run them and what do they think of them? Also what kind of power are you running at them?

    Thanks!

They aren't a bad place to start...although they benefit greatly from bi-amping.

I found 1 thread based on these. Maybe my parameters were set poorly.

What kind of power would you run to the mids and what kind of power to the tweets then?

I've got 2 amps, I could pull this off.

If they're anywhere around 50 to 100W, you're fine. You won't be using all of that on the tweets anyway, just adjust their level until it sounds natural. Doesn't take that much power.

The amp I heard them on was a 225x4 beast, but they were receiving a tiny fraction of that

Re: RE Audio RE Series 6.5 Components

I've got an amp that runs 60x4 @ 4ohms. Do you think that is enough power to run those RE's up front and some Critical Mass SS6's in the back? Or should I run 2 amps so I can throw like 70 watts to the RE's and 100 watts to the CM's?

Re: RE Audio RE Series 6.5 Components

I'd ditch the rears entirely, and use both channels to run the RE's...

Re: RE Audio RE Series 6.5 Components

Interesting, you think I'll have plenty of mid's and high's for my 2 Eclipse Aluminum 10's with just the RE's?

    Thanks again

The subs can always be attenuated to the point where they'll blend in

Should sound great if properly tuned.

I've got a Kicker Impulse x3i x-over. Do you think I should use this as my crossover and ditch the ones that come with it?
