Lately I've been thinking about buying a set of Focal components to replace the stock speakers in my car. I'm trying to get the best SQ I can possibly get, so I was looking at their 3-way sets. I'd be getting either the 165K3, or the 165W3 if I can get a good deal on them. What I'm wondering is how (or if?) I will be able to put this set in without having to cut any holes in the door or make any modifications to the car that can't be undone.
The stock speakers are 6 1/2", so what I was thinking is that I could put the woofers of the component set in the stock location, then get some custom kick panels built for the 4" and the tweeter.
What I'd like to know is... Will this sound good? And If so, do any of you know where I can get some kick panels built for the midrange and tweeter? I'd do it myself, but I'm horrible at making this type of thing, it would look like complete ***.
If this is a bad idea, could someone suggest another way I could go about doing this?
