Crutchfield
On their site I went to the what fits my car section. They have the adapter ring to convert 6x8 to 5.25" But they say the polk ex3 won't fit. Is this because it is too deep or is it because the screw holes don't match up wich I could fix simply by drilling my own.

HELP PLEASE.

The plates on Crutchfield are pieces of ****, you are better off taking some plywood and making your own adaptor. Just measure off the mounting depth in your door to see if the woofer will fit.

About how thick should the plywood be

Originally posted by smokeoff About how thick should the plywood be Well, that depends. If the woofer isn't going to fit because of the mounting depth, you should use a little thicker wood so it will have the clearance after it's mounted. If it will clear that back fine, then you can use like 1/4" or so.
