Generally low Qts drivers don't have the best IB response down low... there are exceptions, of course, like the Adire Koda and the Tang-Band 6.5 "subwoofer" both of which are low Qts with great midbass.

Look for high Qts(preferably 0.5+) and a Vas close to the airpace or exceeding that of your doors. Most low Qts drivers need alot of electrical compensation to deal with dips in the freq response, for the most part the lower end rolls off drastically. I'm not opposed to using eq to correct things, but ideally you want cut than have to boost-as boosting often sounds unatural, forced and lacks plasticity and in the end all you are doing is stressing the centrings on the driver and shotening the drivers lifespan.

I am trying to find some high qts drivers with less than 2.5" mounting depth.
A lot of the DIY drivers are 7" or 6".
How does the morel I posted differ from the car audio version?

Thanks....those dyns aren't cheap, but seem well worth the price.
