Upgrading from SLC 265s...
As the title says, I am going to be upgrading from SLC 265s (kick version).
Right now, they are hooked upto a nine.4 which can suppliy at least 150w.
They have done very well for me so far and have blended very nicely with my single 10w6v2.
However, I am now upgrading my sub-stage to two 12w6v2s. I fear that the 265s can only get so loud that they wont blend as well anymore.
Here is what I am looking for in my upgrade:
-Components that will sound good in my door which is already deadened. Might add another layer...
-A budget of less than $500 strictly, would rather have something around $400.
-Have the potential to get much louder and still have very good SQ then the SLC 265s.
-Are 6.5" in diameter.
-Require no more than 200w.
I might just keep my tweeters since they sound great. But when I get higher up in the volume, my mids start to distort.
A couple of hunters are out in the woods when one of them falls to the ground. He doesn't seem to be breathing, his eyes are rolled back in his head. The other guy whips out his cell phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps to the operator: "My friend is dead! What can I do?" The operator, in a calm soothing voice says: Just take it easy. I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead? There is a silence, then a shot is heard. The guy's voice comes back on the line. He says: "OK, now what?"
