    Re: need advice

I would get the front speakers first. Then get a 4 channel amp for the entire system.

The high pass and low pass filters are explained in the stickies. High pass filters block low frequencies, letting higher frequencies pass. I would set these at 80 Hz on your head unit...but maybe after you get a sub. For now, put it as low as possible. Unless you are bottoming out your speakers, then raise that up. The low pass filter should be all the way up, there is no need to block high frequencies since all your speakers are full range.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong

    Re: need advice

I would not amp the rear coaxials if the front are stock with no amp. All of your strong music would be coming from the rear and would destory all staging.

    Re: need advice

After you get your front speakers, then you need a 4 channel amp. Not a 2 channel. 4 speakers to power = 4 channel amp. Try to get an amp with an RMS wattage rating of the same or greater than (but not like 3 times as much) your biggest speakers.

    Re: need advice

if you ran one channel to the front and one channel to the rear with a 2 channel amp... it would sound terrible. You would lose all stereo sound as there would no longer be any left or right.

    Re: need advice

it would be best for you to use that 2 channel amp on just the front speakers and leave the rear on the HU until you can afford a 4 channel amp.
