    help with speaker choice

    lookin for some help.im buyin speakers for my mustang.i can go with 5x7 or 6x8 on the door.does it really matter with the size.im not goin to be hookin it up to a amp right away.wats a decent speaker to get for the price.

    if you are looking for a bolt in solution. the boston SL80 is the best thing you could put in there. the pioneer rev tsd-680r is right up there with them, which i ran for a while in my mustang.

    The boston's sound great. Go with those. They respond greatly to being amped.

    What's in Store:
    2 more Dayton RS180 7" midbass, 2 Bolender Grabender Neo planar tweets

    those are like 200 and somethin.didnt want to spend that much yet on door speakers

    I would go with some components like 5.25" with 1 " tweeter in your situation and just make a metal adapter plate.

    I can fit 7" Dayton RS mids in the 6x8 holes in teh Fords... YOu can probably put in 6.5" comps if you wanted.

    6.5" REV's will sound nice amped. Go to your local CC and demo what they have...
