why not on the A pillar, thats where i would do it, i think it would get annoying listening to with it the doors opening a closing. plus it seems kinda low

That looks nice. Shoots right at you. I have mine shooting a little higher but I would think that would sound good as is.

    Good question.
Without some sort of processing there your imaging is going to be, well, nonexistant for the most part. You'd have the output from the left tweet screaming into your ear and the output from the right tweet all but inaudible without something to take up the slack there

Re: Would it be bad to mount the tweet in this spot?

I'm about to get installing in my girls '94 explorer and I'm facing the same questions. I've decided to take off the a-pillar and glass pods for the tweet facing opposite sides, depending on how they sound...

Re: Would it be bad to mount the tweet in this spot?

So long as its a soft dome (on axis) type tweeter & aimed at you I dont see a problem. I dont see the doors opening & closing a problem either. Its not like your driving around with your doors open anyway.

if you're worried about opening and closing your doors affecting the sound then why mount comps in the doors?

Id consider mounting somewere else then. Hard meterial tweets (Off axis) aimed directly at you will be way too bright. I would definetly have them pointed away, like the windsheild center.

Get double sided tape, or velcro, and temporally mount the tweeter, and choose which location you like your tweeter at. Thats the best solution.
