    Jl Xr650 Csi

I listened to these in a shop the other day and compared them to the Polk MOMO's and the Pioneer REV's and these JL's blew them away in terms of clarity and midbass. Anyone else have any thoughts on these??

They're good. One of the few hard-dome sets I can stand.

I personally love the smoothness of silk tweeters, i actually used to have those comps and they are very nice comps but the tweeters i just disliked on them. i am running a comp now with the silk tweets and they dont sound harsh and hard on the ears at very hi volumes.

While these tweeters may be hard domed, there is actually a thin rubber layer surrounding the metal that helps tone out all the noises that are harsh to the ears. I read this in the product description on JL's website and thought it was just some marketing gimmick. I heard these next to a few different sets with silk tweeters and these were at least as clean sounding.

The tweets aren't too harsh. They didn't seem to like power much when I ran a set, pretty easy to get some extra noises out of them at higher volumes. Midbass was good, fairly snappy, bottom end was a bit lackluster, but it wasnt' deadened very well. I enjoyed the set for what it's worth.
