Decide to go 8" midbass in the doors and not use the Alpine X 6.5's... don't want a sub, but something decent to be loud and play from 75hz to 150hz.
Any ideas?

Never actually used these but Ive heard good things about them.
Thats what I'm running up front in my mustang. They are in .4 ft^3 each which I think is a little small. Cut at 80 they sound great. I've recently pulled my sub out and tried cutting the 8's at 60 and they sounded a bit muddy. For 32 bucks its kind of hard to go wrong with these guys, with a little more space or in an well damped door they would prolly sound real good.
Sounds good, I'll check them out also can you buy speaker grills for the speakers somewhere?

These might work their internal diameter of the grille is 7 1/8" and the external diameter of the daytons are 7 1/8" so you would have to mount the grilles seperately over the speakers. I dont think the woofer would slap the grille.

Dynaudio MW160 or MW170. Very good midbass. I run mine from 63-700 though. I am using the system 360. Just make sure you sound deaden your doors really well cause you will have a humm if you don't. They have them at www.woofersetc.com for sale but I have heard some bad things about how they sell things that they aren't authorized to. But that is where I bought mine and didn't have a problem.
wow those are kinda pricey.
Are they of exceptional quality?
LOL yeah...they aren't cheap. As for quality...I really like them. You will find alot of people that use them for their midbass in sq vehicles.
Here is a guy that uses Focal Be, Dynaudio, and Scan Speak in his 07 Tahoe. Very expensive equipment. But like I said..I love mine
Yes they are. Arguementively: "The worlds best sounding speaker". Just be prepared to feed them Gobs of power to get em to really shine.
And Please buy authorized. Its alot of money to drop on the easiest component of your setup to blow. Without a warranty wouldnt be too comforting.

Honestly I would recommend buying from a dealer. We were going to become one again but I couldn't get anyone else to go in with me on the buy in so I had no other choice. I went to a dealer and he had a set that he had used in his vechilce and he still wanted a grand for them and I know they were at leat 5 years old and they weren't in good shape. He also wouldn't give me any warranty so I had no other choice. No other dealers around. Plus if I was going to pay retail I could have just went ahead and did the buy in and had a set sitting around.
