i have an infinity reference component set in my car and the tweeters are in the a pillar, and they get so harsh. i was wonderin what some nice smooth tweeter are that would be around 50-75 bucks. are the cdt silks in that price range any good?

i wouldnt just replace the tweeters, not all tweets sound good at infinity's passive crossover points. either get a new set or get an equalizer to tone them down.
I must follow in eugenics' footsteps, for he is great

agreed. the cdt silk tweets are nice tweets imo. i liked them. alot softer then the infinity's. try on your eq if you have one backing off on all the frequencies above 3k hz. if that isn't an option try lowering the treble. i suggest a new comp set. what headunit do you have?
i have an eclipse cd3000. i just bought this set like 3 weeks ago so i dont really want to get a whole new one.

you say a set would be around 20-30 dollars? i just found this set i like.

i just made some fiberglass 5 1/4 pods so i want to stay that size.

i know lol you guys said it would be better to get a crossover to right. could the tweeter not be the problem the x over too.

idk what the hell you just said
or at least its crossover points? is that a good set anyways? lol
i thought someone said that i shouldnt run a cdt or what ever tweeter off an infinity crossover
thats the way they are right now. they just get way too crisp after about 60% volume.
I had that set and I HATED them. no midbass at all. tweeters made my ears bleed. I do like a warmer tweeter. Best tweeter I have heard was a morel supremo, might be out of the price range. I would think that the crossover point would be high for that set. but a silk would help alot. the mids are a problem also. the crossover would work with another set of drivers. get some silks and a pair of AA poly mids. or get a whole new comp set. I ran the Aura tweets that were on here alot and they were good. best cheap set of mids I found were the AA polys. ready for flaming![]()
