kind of stressing here.....need opinions/input

hello.

I recently just got my first complete system installed in my car.....and I am a little unsatisfied with my speakers. My subwoofer satisfies me well, but the speakers I feel lag. I have a JBL CS60.4 amp powering JBL gto8606c components (cost 200$) in the front and powering JBL GTO8627 speakers (cost 110$)in the back.

Before I got my new set-up I had stock speakers in the back, and cheap Pioneer TSA6870R speakers (cost $90) in the front. I did not have an amp.

Well, it seems that my new amplified components barely get any louder then what I had before. I am bummed because I spent a decent amount of money on this for something that wasn't much better then what I had before.

Is JBL just a ****** company? Because the guy at the shop was claiming these new speakers to be great, and to me they don't get very loud at all. Any suggestions for trading my new JBL speakers for something else in a similar price range? I know that is not much money but there has to be something that is significantly louder then the Pioneers I had considering the price difference.

check the gains with a multi meter. maybe he just set em low using his ear to protect your equipment and they could go a lot louder... It's a posibility.

it really does not get much louder then the stock/pioneer set-up I had....and I went back to the shop and had the install guy mess with all the controls on the amp for like an hour.....

JBL makes alot of damm nice stuff. IMO
But check the gains and everything. Like everyone else said, the guy who did it could have set it wrong.
