I want a pretty good component system for under $150, any ideas? They need to be 6.5", and they will be going into my kick panels I just fiberglassed.

RE comps? They're $150, very nice midbass, and don't require much power at all

Any other comps readily available @ most local audio stores?

clarion srs 1685. nice set for $100. nothing spectacular, but sound real nice.

RE Comps... where can I buy them/look at their specs and what not? I've looked into Infinity Kappa 60.7cs but I don't know how much power I need to give them and at what impedance...

No place online. Call them or find a dealer in your area.

Dayton's partsexspress.com I got the 7" reference and they fit in my factory 6.5 location with a mdf baffle. They surprised me.
Dayton reference are nice.....

Ok since you two recommend Dayton products, would this setup be a good sounding system for the money?: 2 Dayton 7" reference woofers, 2 neodymium 3/4" tweeters, and 2 4500k 12dB slope crossovers... since the woofers are 60WRMS a piece and the tweeters are 15WRMS a piece I would need an amp that powers something along the lines of 75WRMS x 2 @ x ohms right? Right now I'm not sure how I'm going to get 4 or 2 ohms per side, but I'll figure it out... I'll probably need either 2 8-ohm speakers or 2 4-ohm speakers per side, correct? Also would a setup like that perform as well as the RE comps or better or worse?

Honestly, unless you are going active I'd just buy a prebuilt component set. Any of those generic passive xovers are really going to negate any benefit of going DIY. Generic passives simply won't do the speaker justice at all.
OZ Audio Vector series can be had from Tplaya07 for less than $150 shipped.
DLS has some component sets in your price range: http://www.mobilesq.com/store/index....th=27_50_51_60
You can find the Memphis Msync 6.5's for close to your price range if you look online.
Crystal SSCS are very close to your price range aswell: http://www.infinitecaraudio.com/cgi-...atalogno=SSCS6
Contact 6spdcoupe...Rainbow may have something in your price range aswell.
Ok, I've contacted tplaya07 with no reply yet; 6spdcoupe is searching; I've tried contacting RE and their components are on backorder, but I was wondering what their power handling is?

IIRC the RE's power handling is 75w RMS

It's 50w I think...wouldn't give em anymore then 75w...
