what to buy??? i am need of a 6.5 component set with srong midbass and smoothe higs.
this is what i am looking at:

cdts(not sure what model but inputs will be nice)

I think you are looking for CDT's! They have great midbass, and ohhhh I love mine. I have had an ES520 set for about 2 years, and they are well broken in now, and have killer midbass for a 5.25 woofer!

they will be run off a ed nine.2 amp. my budget is under 450.

I would recommend some Rainbows, I havent heard them yet (soon tho) but have researched and their reviews seem to have smooth highs and great midbass. Do a search and you will see. I also looked into CDT but got the impression that a majority think that you could get better components for the money.

The cost issues of CDT and people complaining has more to do with their 07 series, which can cost well over $1,000 for a set... The other series are on par with the competition for the most part.

you should hear the hexs on a zapco ref digital (ref DC). mid bass that is unbelievable. mid-bass like that just doesnt happen.

I think you can find cdt 07 mids around 250, i did, and i am running them with rainbow cal25 tweeters.
