i know they are "midranges" but are they really full range? i was thinking about pairing it up with a set of usher 9950's. It would also fit better in my car.

Looks like they're good for a 120hz-8khz range of use. For sure not full range. Plus an install in a car will almost garantee that your response will be around 30 degrees off axis at best. Good choice for a 3-way.... a little weak for a 2-way.

that was the wide range, i changed to full range ones. the site says 65-20khz...

Well the graph for the FR125SBG shows it starts losing output right at 100hz or so, off axis it will be a little higher I'm sure. For a 2-way you really want something that'll be at like 70hz with 80-85dB response.

Ehhhh, if you can glass them to your dash they'll work pretty well![]()

Derek over on SIN runs them in a three-way setup in his Firebird, if I'm not mistaken...apparently likes them very much![]()

We aren't talking about 3-ways you tard!Originally Posted by JimJ

welcome to the dark side! i thought you said it was "mucho complicated?" lol.
yea just looking at the FR, i dunno how low those can play. i like to play my mids down around 63-80hz or so. i tried crossing my mids up around 100hz and definately the midbass loses its punch when crossed up there.
how about the new dayton rs's, the car audio version? supposedly coming out tomorrow at PE.

if i can get the same low end response with a 4.5" er then why not? liek beat said, may have some beaming issues, but if it will play just as low and sound just as good (havent heard any comments of IN-car sound quality yet) as my 6.5" SLC's then i think these will be my next driver.
although is 85.9 @ 1W/1m okay compared to the 90 for teh rainbows?
