I was looking through the forums/ebay and I came across a few sets of Phoenix Gold Ti Elites for about $60-70 cheaper than a set of Ologys. This is Phoenix Golds top end. How do they compare to the Ologys?

How do Rainbow 265 Profi Vanadiums or OZ elites, Diamond S600 HEX? These would all be cheaper than ologys
What Ology set are you talking about? He makes quite a few different setups, IIRC. Though I know his more popular is with the RS-180(sp??).
The ologys would be using the RS28 and RS180

whether 6 or 7", it wouldnt matter. I have to make fiberglass kickpanels to use the ologys as there is no way in hell i am gonna fit a 3" tweeter in the stock A-Pillar in my jetta. I was wondering if any of these speakers compare to the sound quality of the Ologys so I can avoid making kicks, and id also like a nicer looking set of xovers (although I know his design is great, these would be noticeable and would not accentuate my system)
Is your stock speaker location at the bottom of the door?Originally Posted by thadman

Midbass bottom of door, and tweeter is pillar of door behind a grille
anybody?
You could just make a small kick for the tweet and have the midbass in the door, dont even have to glass it you could just resin it, you don't have to worry about air pressure. Or you could make a small wood box. There's all kinds of things that would be alot easier than fiberglassing kicks...As for the other speakers you're asking about, sorry, I don't know anything about them.Originally Posted by thadman

I would have to modify my door to fit the speakers in anyway, so Id have to do fiberglass kicks
I know they beat down the DA hex... but I rly dont have any A/B comparisons against profi van -- or OZ elites... it could be helpfull to the comunity though to have themOriginally Posted by thadman

i have the oz elites. They can get really loud without a trace of distortion, uber smooth "warm" tweeter and the midbass is pretty punchy. But then again i upgraded from type S coaxils.
